Of course you don't owe an apology to the people insulting you; you owe an apology to cpap.com.
Cuda wrote:Maybe I offered to change the thread, delete it or have cpap.com delete and they declined? Ever think of that?
cpap.com wants me to leave the post and they have explained the situation to all of you.
There is a difference between offering to change the thread title, and having them graciously decline for you to do that vs. they want you to leave the post.
I apologized to cpap.com for how I brought this up and they accepted my apology
Good! That's the important part--that you recognize you didn't go about this the right way and apologize.
when one user saw what I was talking about sleepy had to point out that had nothing to do with anything, this is just about hating Cuda, nothing more.
I don't "hate" you, I just feel that the right thing to have done is to have brought it to cpap.com's attention privately before publicly bashing them, and that's what I said. Once you felt they resolved the issue to your satisfaction, I feel you should have gone the extra one inch and changed the title, like Uncle Bob did when he had a similar thread. That is my opinion anyway.

Dear oh dear oh dear . . . . . they're still playing "he said, she said"

Did no-one but Kempo read my post.

by the way kempo - weather here is improving, still got flooding in Victoria, but slowly improving, and all those 1000's of people in Brisbane whose homes were completely submerged, all banded together and helped each other to clean up - total strangers came by the bus loads to help - and the job was much quicker and easier.
See . . . down here we tend to focus on what's actually important in life, and just get on with it . . . . .

No, actually. I didn't see it until now.

Yes, it's true I should have let Cuda's last post go without responding, despite all the misquoting of me he did... Didn't even get my name right (which about sums things up).

Not a bad idea to leave the thread title as is.
I remember how initially dismayed I was when I first realized (before ever posting) that this forum belonged to a cpap selling company (Yep, I was naive back then) .
But then I read, and read and read some more - and 6 years on, I have nothing but respect for the Goodman's way of treating the forum, and their customers. I have been doing all the cpap shopping I can do on cpap.com, and have been doing it for close to 6 years.
I've run into human error 3 times - and it was settled satisfactorily for me in all 3. I value that tremendously. Mistakes are unavoidable. Decency however, is a choice.

Sorry for the slow response on this one. I saw this post late this morning.

Cuda was right. We mistakenly had the elbow adapter on the customization page for the S9 AutoSet. It is a fair and rational assumption that if a product is on the customization page, it should be compatible with the base product. We do not expect our customers to have to go and read the product pages of customization products for compatibility when we suggest it accompany the purchase of the base product.

When we first implemented the customization page with the redesign and with each new product we post, we check for compatibility of the customization items, including filters, tubing, and comfort items. For the S9, for the elbow adapter was missed.

Cuda should not have been offered this product along with his S9. We have corrected the customization for the S9 machines, and we have checked the other machines that the elbow adapter is not compatible with.

We understand how Cuda was upset here and felt he was misled. We contacted Cuda and apologized for our mistake and offered him a refund. We are glad he has accepted our apology and brought this issue to our attention.

A good reason not to change the subject heading -- and a good reason to make sure Carolyn's response will appear on every page as long as the thread keep getting bumped.

Adversity does tend to focus peoples' minds on what's important. I've seen that happen in other parts of the world too . Here's to hoping those disrupted lives are soon back on track, and that the memory of the goodness shown by strangers does not dim to much when live is back to normal.

"A good reason not to change the subject heading -- and a good reason to make sure Carolyn's response will appear on every page as long as the thread keep getting bumped."

Thats the feeling I got from speaking with cpap.com. Why the continued insults after I explained this is beyond me. Both parties have made their peace. The apology everyone wants I have offered. Its good for them to leave it as is and I never edit or delete unless asked. What I did that was wrong is just there for ever, I can live and learn from that and move on. It paints cpap.com in a good light.

If I edit the topic or worse edit the post and delete the offending comments the entire thread will make no sense.

I do not really believe in editing a post as I read a thread more like a conversation. If they want me to delete the whole thing all they have to do is ask and yes I offered, but if they want me to leave it I have to take some name calling and insults but I guess I have it coming.

If the goal is to get this off the board my advice to them would be to hold back the urge to insult here and send them via PM and this will just go away. I don't mind fighting it out away from here which proves I am doing as much for you guys as I can without being a bigger jerk to cpap.com than I already was.

You guys are whining for me to do something that both parties already agreed did not need to be done.

Let it go. Cpap.com and I have already both won, if you guys just shut up you get what you want too!
