Mouth breathing?

Post by tektrek68 » Fri Jan 14, 2011 7:26 am

Hello

I am on my 2nd week with the S9 and the leak rate continues to be high 40-60 with AHI under 1. Currently using Nasal pillows and will wake with a dry mouth. Last night I woke up short on air as the S9 had shut off ( I have the autostart on) I believe it though I had taken the mask off as I was mouth breathing.

Does it sound like to yall that the mouth breathing is happening for sure and what are the best options to fix that - chin strap or full face mask? Thanks so much

My choice would be a FF mask, but you could try a chin strap first.

Thanks. I also wonder why on the display I get a happy green face for the mask fit but lead rate is that high?

Just because smiley is there when you're awake, doesn't mean he's there all night When I started out, I used smiley to confirm no leaks, but had the same high readings. It has to be as you move around during the night and your mask moves, the leaks are happening.

I see, thought smilley might be an over all rating not just a point in time check.

Since I never feel any leaks, am correct in thinking mouth breathing will register as leaks? Thanks
