AHI display on Respironics

Post by ugogirl » Thu Jan 13, 2011 9:48 am

Hi All, Glad to say I am in Florida for a couple of months trying to find warm weather.(Although it was in the 50's this AM and I'm in the Keys!!!)

Anyway, my friend's husband has been on CPAP a long time. She's a nurse and I was surprised to find that I know more about the treatment, machines, etc. than either of them! (Thanks to the kind people on this board!) He's been having a rough time since the VA gave him a new machine and mask. She says he's not sleeping well and blames the mask.

The machine he's using is the same one I have. I checked to see what his info was and was surprised that it' doesn't display all the info that mine does. I could not find his AHI or Periodic Breathing info. Is there a setting in the clinician's menu that would block this info from showing to the patient? He's got an appointment with the VA and I wondered if he should ask them about it.

Madelyn, your friend is lucky you're willing to help.

For the CPAP user to be able to see the AHI/Leak/PB info in the "Patient menu", it has to first be set up that way.

The "Setup" menu below is from the Provider manual for the Philips Respironics System One REMstar Auto. You won't see some of these items in the PR1 Pro's setup menu. But this will give you an idea where to enable AHI/Leak/PB info for the Pro machine.
