CMS-50E - is Bluetooth standard or an extra option?
CMS-50E - is Bluetooth standard or an extra option?
This is strange...
I just received a CMS-50E from EchoStore.com. They charge $20 for the "bluetooth option" and I decided to pay the extra since I have bluetooth in my laptop. A friend of mine got his from ClinicalGuard.com, quite a bit cheaper but supposedly without the BT option (CG doesn't have an option to add BT).
Guess what... his unit is exactly the same as mine, and it *does* have BT built-in.
I don't know when the change was made, but apparently all of this units now come with BT built-in. If someone knows this to be different, please let us know. What I have seen on the web is a bit confusing, but it does say in some places that BT is now standard.
If this is the case, I do believe I have been had... There are a few other places doing the same thing - i.e., charging extra for the "BT Option". Maybe they are getting rid of old inventory, but for the time being I would either go with ClinicalGuard or talk to the supplier and find out what is going on.

Re: CMS-50E - is Bluetooth standard or an extra option?
I have the "BlueTooth version as well. I can detect the unit, but cannot connect to it using either the built-in BT service or the supplied SW. The built-in BT service seems to think that a PIN is needed to connect. The supplied SW sees nothing. The user guide ans paper booklet is of no help.
Any tips appreciated.

Re: CMS-50E - is Bluetooth standard or an extra option?
I recently purchased a Contec CMS-50E from ClinicalGuard.com. I did not purchase the BlueTooth option but am interested in doing so to avoid cables at night if others have found this to work.
Don_G, did you get this working?

Mark

I'm having the same issue, did you ever fix it?
Re: CMS-50E - is Bluetooth standard or an extra option?
Hi all, I did pair up the device without any passcodes (I am using Windows Vista) .
My device did paired up successfully at this stage.
Run the SpO2 Assistant (the PC software supplied from the manufacturer) and it can detect the oximeter successfully.
It seems to me that the PC software supplied a PIN and let the OS remembered the PIN so that you need not
to input the PIN later on. (I tried to guess the PIN myself but failed and honestly I want to know the "hidden" PIN as I wrote
my own Application in C# to read the SpO2, BPM, Waveform with the cable connection but failed to do so in the bluetooth case .. )

CMS 50E bluetooth !?! (jealous) Mine does not have that (Max cries like a little boy who is denied ice cream)
While both pulse ox and ResMed S9 AutoSet data are OK "post sleep", if I had those in real-time streaming data I could do a bunch-o-things (wrings hands crazily)

If a bluetooth device is asking for a passcode and none is supplied in the manual you might try 0000. It is the default passcode for many bluetooth devices.

Re: CMS-50E - is Bluetooth standard or an extra option?
Just in case you are still interested, the pin is 7762 (at least that worked for mine). I am integrating the device into my own sensor monitor and needed the PIN to complete the process. Just thought I would share.Brian Leung wrote:Hi all, I did pair up the device without any passcodes (I am using Windows Vista) .

Thanks for the PIN. We have similar goals, like to exchange ideas?

Re: CMS-50E - is Bluetooth standard or an extra option?
Hi everyone.
I'm also try to develop my CMS-50E data monitor in C#.
But I can't receive any data through "SerialPort" class.
Does anyone have an idea?

Looking at my phone I realized that the PIN corresponds to "SPO2".guest2987 wrote:Just in case you are still interested, the pin is 7762 (at least that worked for mine).

Thank you for your replying.
I know how to communicate Bluetooth,
but CMS-50Ws' behavior is strange.
I can receive only 0 byte data...
But my question isn't proper for this forum.
thank you
