My first cpap charts
Re: My first cpap charts
Oh no! Snoring hubby! I'm sure the mach is not tuned into his noises. Numbers look good, give it a few nights, not many sleep well at first, soon you will wake less and go back to sleep faster, that is if you can get hubby to be quiet threaten him with the CPAP.
Any landing you walk away from is a good one; if you don't break your airplane it's excellent.

Actually I've already threatened him!! He told me to stop diagnosing him But then I explained that if he did the reading about sleep apnea and all the symptoms, he'd see that he also had it (high blood pressure, ED, low testosterone). I've lain awake watching to see if his chest is rising; it does just a bit and then his legs and arms jerk and he settles back to sleeping. He did mention it to his doctor when he finally went back in. Doc wants to wait until he's more stable on the BP medication (he's been off and on it for years; more off than on!)
Re: My first cpap charts
Doc waiting for more stable BP? I bet his BP would go down if he was DX and treated, that is if you don't strangle him in his sleep for keeping you awake with snoring. Oh well , it took my hubby a while to get me to the sleep lab, he sleeps really well now, what with all the quiet and all

I think it's because he's been so inconsistent in taking the meds. Once he's on them long enough to stabilize his BP some, then he'll send him to the sleep lab. I agree that his BP will come down once he's treated for the apnea. My BP, consistently low forever, just started inching to a normal-high level this past summer....and I've probably had sleep apnea for 18 years, if you go by when I started complaining about not sleeping, reflux, and muscle aches and pains.
Re: My first cpap charts
Interesting, didn't know CPAP helped normalize low BP, mine has come down a bit, though was not high enough to warrant meds. Sure don't miss all the other the other apnea induced hot flashes and night sweats, etc good luck with hubby

Re: My first cpap charts
Your hubby's blood pressure may never normalize just on meds. One of the prime reasons for sending someone for a sleep study is because their BP stays resistant to control despite multiple medications. And some of the side effects of his medications can also be causing some of his problems.

It was a miracle just getting him to return to the doctor. One step at a time!
The increase in pressure seems to be helping. I'm still sleeping a good 11-12 hours though and don't really want to get out of bed. Not depressive, just craving sleep!

We'll see how I do tonight. I'll be up late and may have a glass or 2 of wine or beer. It's DH's office party. Luckily I can sleep in tomorrow.
