What do I do about these marks on my face?

Post by FYG » Mon Dec 05, 2005 12:58 pm

I've been on CPAP for about 6 months now and love it. However, I hate the fact that I now have these brownish marks/scars from my mask. I have 2 spots on my forehead and 1 on the bridge of my nose where the main contact points of my mask are. I've put some moleskin on the mask, which makes it more comfortable, but the spots are still there. I've tried using Neosporin but that seems to have a minimal effect since they really aren't "cuts" per se. Anyone have any other suggestions? All help is appreciated.

Simplest thing to do would be get a different mask. Your current one doesn't seem to working out. Masks shouldn't hurt and they shouldn't ever damage you.

I agree....find a new mask! That's one of the reasons I've decided not to use my Activa mask unless I'm desperate. There are other reasons, but one was I was getting a mark on the bridge of my nose which did NOT go away as the day progressed. I have another such permanent mark on my body...from underwire bras, sorry guys....and I certainly don't need one on my NOSE.

Good luck!

Agree! A new mask is a must. Why put up with it when you can find a more comfortable interface.

Thank you Jan,

I now know what ill-fitting CPAP masks and underwire bras have in common.
