New numbers

Post by Rattleman » Thu Nov 25, 2010 11:38 pm

Just got my numbers from my DME the other day. They're from my ResMed Elite II.

Pressure 10.0
Apnea Index 0.2
Hypopnea Index 7.6
AHI 7.8
Time in Apnea 0.0
Leak L/Sec;
Median 0.0 95th percentile 0.0 Maximum 0.2

What do you think?

How long have you been on XPAP? You want to get your AHI under 5. They might want to make a small pressure adjustment, or wait a bit longer and see if they get better.
Good Luck.

With an S8, I would worry more about the AI, rather than the AHI. That model has an algorythm that measures hypopneas higher than the other cpap's, or the S9. Not that it's "wrong", just a different formula for measuring.

Your AI of .2 is excellent, and so is your leak rate! For comparison, forum members have taken the HI and divided it by 2. If you do a search, you will find several threads on S8 + hypopneas.

Here is a recent paper on the S8 and AHI:

What did your DME say about your numbers?

Rattleman......I just want to remind you that with the Elite II, you can get your numbers daily without going to your DME.
The Clinical Menu will give you that data on your screen.

Hmmmm. Now that you mentin it, I remember scrolling through the menu while trying to eliminate the ramping and seeing my numbers.
Thanks for the reminder, I'll look into it.

By the way, I'd like to make it clear that I don't depend on my DME. After I saw his ignorance about my machine's lack of usefulness on 12V, I've given up on him. I took my card in for "compliance" only.
