Itchy Ear

Post by ohioed » Tue Nov 23, 2010 8:16 pm

I've been using a CPAP machine for over a year and have had great results. The only thing is I've noticed that my ear is very itchy Anyone else have this problem. I use a full mask and the humidfier with my machine.

I had the same thing. Hated it.
I think you'll find that periodic use of "MiraCell" drops will solve the problem.
My advice is to call around; if you can't find it @ a drug store (it's over-the-counter)
you can check w/ hearing aide professionals. People who wear hearing aids & run into
this problem swear by it.

Good luck

My audiologist recommended I remove any loose wax CAREFULLY, and then use a q-tip with alcohol to wipe out the canal.
This has always worked for me--even in the ear with the hearing aid.

Well Chunkyfrog, I wouldn't want to disagree w/ your audiologist, but Ohioed's specific complaint was about an itchy ear, not wax removal. And for that specific problem I stand by my solution.
