Lansinoh AND Ayr together ????

Post by adksleepygal » Sat Nov 20, 2010 10:43 am

Its possible or preferable to use the Ayr and the Lansinoh both together?
Sorry for my dense - sleep-deprived brain
I did sleep with my Optilife cradle cushion last night to give the nose a rest - it feels much better today and I slept 10.7 hrs - amazing for me!
My AHI was not so good though - up to 6.8 last night. Is there anything that you do like move the mask thing or something else that registers as an event to increase the AHI or is that truly the picture of your night?
Thanks for any input. Everyone is helping me a lot - thanks so much

I just use the Lansinoh. Its a very small amount. When I first started by the end of the first week my nose was very sore and raw where the pillows were touching. After a a few days with the lansinoh the nose healed. Now I use a very tiny amount on the edges of my nares at nite before putting on my mask. It helps the pillows seal well around the nose. No more problems.

I have never tried the Ayr. If you are using that for dryness...I would try adjusting the humidity. I have mine set at 76 and that seems to work well for me.

I was using the Lansinoh as suggested, for me it feels a little greasy so I tried the ky jelly and like that better. I dab a little around my nostrils and even a bit on the outer pillow. It works for me. I do use a spray of ayr mist for the insides of my nose occasionally.

Apparently, the two are compatible...and not used for the same purpose...so go for it! I have found that more than just a touch of Lansinoh can make the pillow "blow out" with my pressure (18).

I'd bet you are getting more leakage with the cradle and that's causing the higher AHI.
