I'm quite new to this forum, but isn't there a Report option?

Many (open) internet forums have an option for an individual member to "report" or "flag" a particular post (by another member) as being "inappropriate" for whatever reason. In some of these forums, the posts that are "reported" are sent to the forum administration so they can evaluate the post's appropriateness and delete it if they find it inappropriate under the forum's protocols.

You get that ability after you've been a member a set period of time. It clicked in for me last month.... so I assume about the 3 month mark. All of a sudden you will notice a Report Spam button appear for you to use.

OK, thanks Emilia - was hoping someone would let me know that there IS in fact a Report button or option.

Keep in mind that the forum is not moderated and reporting posts that you don't like will not result in them being removed. The button is ONLY for deleting unwanted SPAM and any other use of the button will probably result in un-intended actions.

Glad you picked up on that (pun intended)......typical Aussie humour.

The button is labeled "Report Spam" and is in the upper right hand corner of each post. If the 1st poster used it, this thread would have disappeared

If you don't have the button it would be best to abstain.

Yes, but look at all the fun we would have missed out on.

So, Gumby, do I understand your position correctly, that anyone who does not have the button should not use the button?

Someday Science just might catch up with what you are saying today.

From an emale I received....
THE REAL MISS AMERICA !
ATTA GIRL!!!!!!!!!~~~~~~~~

There's a Proud Papa out there somewhere.

Image

WOW!!!

The real Miss America .
This 19 year old ex-cheerleader now an Air Force
Security Forces Sniper, was watching a road that
led to a NATO military base when she observed a
man digging by the road.
She engaged the target (she shot him). It turned out
he was a bomb maker for the Taliban, and
he was burying an IED that was to be detonated
when a US patrol walked by 30 minutes later. It would have
certainly killed and wounded several soldiers.
The interesting fact of this story is the shot was

measured at 725 yards.
She shot him as he was bent over burying the bomb.
The shot went through his butt and into the bomb
which detonated; he was blown to pieces. The Air
Force made a motivational poster of her.

(Folks, that's a shot 25 yards longer than seven
football fields - about 7/10 of a mile)
And the last thing that came out of his
mouth .. was his ass!
If You Can Not Stand Behind Our Troops , please Feel
Free To Stand In Front Of Them!!!!!

Hi All

Report Spam actually means - Delete Spam. You press the button, then get asked if you really want to report that post, if you say yes - the post is immediately deleted.

Now, later on it will get checked by Forum Admin. If they think it should not have been deleted, they will reinstate it. If they think you were being malicious in deleting it, you might lose your "Report Spam" button for a while.

However, if they are on holiday, you can probably delete whatever you like.

cheers
