howdy
I just read in one of these wonderful posts about sleeping on a wedge to lesson the gravity that adds to our apnea.
Or is it just to reduce GERD?
wondering if anyone has one and how it is working for you in reducing AHIs?
and where do you get one?
thanks again
evan
anybody use the wedge?
Re: anybody use the wedge?
Hey Evan,
I bought one...but don't remember where. Try WalMart, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond...I think it was one of those places. Anyway, I only use it when I have a cold....or when aerophagia shows up. Don't know that it helps my AHI...but helps with the other things.

I don't know what effect mine has on AHI or anything else, but I bought mine at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Re: anybody use the wedge?
I'm sleeping on one (Bed, Bath...) since I had to go to sleeping on my back (injured shoulders). I normally side sleep on some layered pillows. I had to get a foam cervial collar to stop my jaw from dropping & pulling my mask down which pulls my pillows down and causes high leak.
Addition: re davecpap's AHI in the following post. Mine tripled at first (mighta been from the pain), now it's backing down with only occasional nights at >3.5.

I've not tried a wedge, but in my experience the sleeping surface definitely impacts your AHI. Check out this old post of mine showing the difference a new pillow made!

Re: anybody use the wedge?
I sleep on a wedge for GERD and it has had no effect on my AHI.

Re: anybody use the wedge?
I got one right after I was diagnosed severe OSA, mostly so I could feel like I was doing something about it until I got titrated and got a machine.
