Simbalionguy: Regarding your oxygen tank theroy I would tend to agree with you! The sad thing is that we do not have extra pieces of paper that have green rectangular portraits of Presidents! I am hoping that the Neurologist calls the DME and asks why they chose to disregard the prescription for the oxygen concentrator!
I made a call to the DME this morning and I think that I just got someone in trouble as they asked me about the "welcome package" that was supposed to contain additional washers and misc supplies. I did not receive that when they dropped the oxygen off! They are now overnighting me some washers for the regulator.
Last night was a rough one as he kept ripping the canula off and he managed to sneak it off one time at night and keep it off for a while before I noticed. It is hard to keep the canula on him, and with him tearing it off it is not improving my sleep any. Granted the oxygen desaturations are better with the oxygen so he is not continually alarming! I am glad that we are finally able to help him. I know that long term low O2 is not good. Not sure if we are going to permantly move him back to our room yet, still very uncomfortable about putting him in his room. He finally moved out of our room in August and when he would alarm I would go to his room. I cannot tell if he rips the canula off if he is in the other room.

I think you need to switch DMEs ASAP.

Re: 4 year old update
Thank you for your concern. I agree about the DME but my husband's insurance changes at the first of the year and out of 5 DMEs that I have contacted this is the only one that will accept his new insurance on January 1st! Have a list of more DMEs to call this afternoon, I just wish that this headache would subside...
