Question about pressure reported by ResScan
Question about pressure reported by ResScan
I'm a new user and have been quietly lurking since I've been diagnosed to educate myself (love this place ). I've been able to find the answers to most of my questions by searching the posts (so much info, so little time ...). I couldn't find an answer to this. I'm using a S9 in CPAP mode with the pressure set to 9 cmH20 with full time EPR at 1. When I use the ramp the pressure reported in the Statistics and Summary pages both match the pressure in the Detailed Graph for the Pressure in ResScan which are all reporting 9 across the board but if I turn the ramp off the Statistics and Summary pages both report a median (9), a 95th percentile (10., and a maximum (11.7) but the Detailed Graph for the Pressure is a straight line at 9. Is this just showing the increase in pressue caused when I exhale?

Re: Question about pressure reported by ResScan
jb, I don't fully understand your question. Is it that S9 "Ramp" settings are impacting the ResScan 3.12 results? i.e. When the S9 is set to "No Ramp" you get median, 90% ,and 95% pressure displays on ResScan 3.12's Statistics & Summary pages with results of 9, 10, and 11.7; when the S9 is set to "Ramp" you do not get these results.
Is the "ramp off" setting something you set in ResScan 3.12 vs on the S9? If it is I have not seen this in my 3.11 version.
I noted you had no responses so was just wondering if was only me who was missing the question.

Re: Question about pressure reported by ResScan
I'm sorry for any confusion. I'm turning the ramp off on my s9. When I look at the data in the LCD it lists the 95th percentile (10. even though I'm set to CPAP mode at 9 cmH2O. When I downloaded the night into ResScan it shows different values for the pressure on the Statistics and Summary with a straight line on the graph at 9. If I look at a night that I used the ramp the Statistics page lists 9 for each value, the Summary page only lists 9, and the pressure graph shows the " ramp". I don't understand why it would change depending on if ramp is on or off.

Re: Question about pressure reported by ResScan
No need to be sorry. Sent you a PM asking about the 95% showing on the LCD. I do not see this on my S9 LCD running in Auto mode. Also, I set my S9 Ramp to "Off" so I'll have to try turning it on and then downloading to ResScan 3.11 to see if this has an impact on the charts. In the meantime, maybe someone else can chime in and enlighten both of us.

Re: Question about pressure reported by ResScan
XSnorer,
I did get your PM and answered you but I'll post here, too. The LCD just lists a pressure which matches the 95th percentile in ResScan. I know this is how it should work if I'm in "Autoset" mode but I'm not. I'll appreciate any insight anyone could offer.

Re: Question about pressure reported by ResScan
OK, when I downloaded the data for last night the pressure numbers were all 9 on the Statistics and Summary pages to match the Detailed graph for the pressure (ramp was still off, still CPAP mode). I changed no settings so I am mystified. I'll chalk this up to unknown causes - possibly changing from Autoset to CPAP mode the night before and not power cycle the machine. Who knows ?? I'm not going to lose sleep over this.
