Just Received my Equipment - Official Hose Head

Post by B_4 » Tue Oct 26, 2010 1:31 pm

I just received my equipment from Pacific Pulmonary and tonight will be my first night of therapy at home. The technician will be at my house later this afternoon to help get me set up. When I said no to the Respironics DS150 I requested the S9 Elite which they did not have, so they sent me an auoset. God is good, I feel fortunate to have had such a good experience so far and this site sure helped me decide which machine I wanted so thanks! I am hoping the transition goes well for me, I am sure I'll be posting in the coming days.

Welcome to our forum!

Good luck on your first night!

And check to make sure that S9 Auto is an S9 AutoSet and NOT an S9 Auto Escape, which is NOT full data capable.

Thanks robysue! I have been posting during the whole diagnosis/titration etc 1 month saga. The S9 says Autoset right above the start/stop button.

Great! At only about $50 cost differential between the elite and the autoset, I wonder why they bother marketing both versions.

Hope all goes well!

I thought that name sounded familiar. Pacific Pulmonary. I think we're neighbors. Irvine. I ended up getting my machine online, though. Just ordered my Climateline hose from them.

When I requested the Elite, since I was prescribed CPAP, Pacific Pulmonary said they don't carry the Elite so they would send me an Autoset. I have been pretty fortunate up to this point.

We are not neighbors slarty, I am in San Antonio, they are nationwide now. Everything will be by mail or FedEx but they have local techs for help with setup, technical issues etc. My tech is supposed to be at my home any minute. I am hopeful for a positive relationship. They have been very professional so far.

Yeah, silly me, thinking with a name like Pacific Pulmonary they might actually be on the West Coast! I just found that and was going to delete my post, but you were too quick. So I'm sitting here with egg on my face.

Hey, we have a lot in common. We are both Aggies and we live in San Antonio (Selma for me but basically San Antonio).

Congrats! My paranoia was misplaced. I'm glad and amazed you got what you asked for. The gods were smiling on you!

Yay! You got the top of the line machine.

A poster on another forum asked for this machine from Pacific Pulmonary and they tried to upcharge her an extra $300 for it. When she politely pointed out, in writing, that the contract PP had with her insurer required them to provide any E0601 machine for the contracted amount and prohibited them from charging the patient extra, they backed down. Hopefully they didn't try to pull that one on you!

You are off to a great start. Don't forget to turn the sleep quality to ON otherwise the machine will not write and detailed data to the SD card.

Thanks. I'm sitting in bed with it on while I have dinner cooking trying to get my mask as loose and comfortable as I can. I don't want to be fidgeting when it is really bedtime. The DME tech had it so tight I thought he was going to shove my nose up into my brain.
