Why does the quattro hurt ?

Post by babon87 » Tue Oct 26, 2010 11:51 am

Does anyone know why the quattro is hurting my nosebridge sooo much?
All was okay for almost month and a half ,now all hell has broken loose, is it because the plastic( in the nose section)
becomes harder over period of time? I have a big cut in my nosebridge its ugly....
Thnx

I found that the nose area of the silicone cushion becomes softer over time. For me, it gets so soft at 2-3 months that I cannot get a good seal and I need a replacement. Be sure that you don't have the forehead adjustment too tight.

There are nose pads for the Quattro available at.....padacheek.com

Is it possible that the dial got turned while you were cleaning the mask? Try dialing it out to pull the top part of the mask away from the nose. I don't think the silicone has hardened up in that amount of time. You can put a bandaid over that spot until it heals, or any kind of soft, flat material, like fleece, or even a piece of T-Shirt material.

Although I use the Micro I had this same problem, I dialed the dial out a nothc or two and also loosened the top strapa a bit and that seemed to help me.

I too had trouble with the quattro. You have gotten some excellent suggestions. I would also suggest padding the bridge of the nose with a bandaid and perhaps keeping it covered even during the day if you tend to touch the raw area. Don't let this get too bad!
As suggested the forehead dial may be your best friend to keep that hard plastic off the bridge of your nose. I took a dremel to the hard plastic and ruined one- wouldn't suggest that!
Good luck.

Thanks LSAT , I think you may have a point that the plastic gets soft in couple of months, I will attempt to buy the plastic
from e-bay and see if this will work, they seem to be fairly cheap
( like $10. )
will report back with results.
Thnx everyone for your input!

I had trouble with Quatro as well. If you use dome moleskin over the bridge of your nose, it helps.
