Got my new machine tonight and not sure what to do....
I got my ResMed S9 Elite +H5i (that's what the box says).
It has the SD card in the back and she said the doctor will look at it.
But, if I understand correctly, I can take it out and download it to my computer and look at it myself????....is that correct?
So, how do I do that? Do I need special software and where would I find it? Someone told me once, but now I don't remember.
And, will it erase it? I don't want to erase it and upset the doctor...LOL!
I just want to see it for myself off and on....but leave all the data there for him.
I gotta figure this new machine out. The gal said I was her first one to deliver on to and she's not real familiar with it and is learning it herself, so
I'd need to read to figure some things out. She did show me the basics though.
She showed me where I could read the daily/weekly data on the machine itself, but now I can't find where she found that leakage/events screen.
I find other screens....just can't find that particular one.
I'll keep playing around until I find it....but if you know, tell me and save me some time. LOL!
I also got my oxygen tank (a smaller version of the humongous machine I did have). It goes right into my machine.
The doctor never told me how much my oxygen dropped while being tested while on the cpap machine, so I asked her.
She said it went down to 82. I know I felt sooooo much better when I had the oxygen, so I'm looking forward to sleeping with the oxygen again tonight.
I could tell I was slipping backwards, even though I was sleeping better. I'll be so thankful to have my oxygen back. I think she said it's set on 2.
As far as the mask, I've adjusted really well to the full face mask and can sleep pretty good with it and wear it EVERY NIGHT!

Look for Uncle Bob to get the software. You dont need anything else other than a SD card reader. I have one attached to my computer but other here have purchased an inexpensive one. Found the user manual on this site as well.
Look at the top of your machine nnext to the round button. Press on the "i" and it will give you info depending on the set up. Once you get the user manual you can reset the setting and change it yourself.

On the right side of the machine there is an i button. Hit the i button and you can see your data....that is if the clinicain went into the menu and turned on the show AHI option.

Re: Got my new machine tonight and not sure what to do....
Thanks guys! I'll look for Uncle Bob and i'll look for that user's manual. She left books with me that came with the machine, but they don't really give
enough information. When she was here she showed me the screen to read my AHI, but no matter what I do, I can't find it now. I push the information button and it shows me how many hours I was on it (8.2) for my first night. Then I dial and can see other stuff....BUT not the stuff I WANT to see, like the AHI. So, I have a feeling she somehow blocked that. She knows I want to see it and that was my purpose in wanting this machine, so if she blocked it, it was on accident.
Reassure me......that I won't erase anything on the SD card by putting it into my computer and reading it. I've used SD cards before so I should know this...LOL....I
just need reassurance!
Gotta head off to work, so I'll have more time to investigate things this weekend.
I can already tell the difference with the oxygen already this morning after just one night. Yay!!!! I'm much more refreshed feeling.

Congratulations on getting a Resmed S9 - and it sounds like you have a good RRT thru your local DME provider. THAT is great!! She can end up being your very best CPAP friend - well, after your CPAP friends in this forum anyway.
What 02 concentrator have they provided for you? I started out w/a DeVilBiss back in 2006 but it has since died and I'm using an Invacare. I'm not happy that we don't have some say in what concentrator we get as I'd greatly appreciate one of the more energy efficient concentrators than these older ones they are peddling to wring the last bit of life out of before replacing them w/the newer, quieter, cooler, more energy efficient concentrators. These concentrators have saved the local DMEs a bundle thru the years as they were able to pass off their delivery and "bottle" expenses onto our electrical energy bill that we have to pay.
You need the ResScan 3.10 or 3.11 software. The ResScan default is to NOT clear the data from the card so that shouldn't be a worry for you at all when you get the software downloaded. You do want to check your data before noon tho. The previous night's data rolls over into the total averages at noon.
Congratulations on that first night of such good sleep!!!

You mentioned using an oxygen TANK, what size tank is this?
Canada...I can't say anything nice, so I won't say anything at all.

Well.... poopie.... wish I'd known THAT! My first week, and I'm just too damn tired to start looking at my stats and was planning on looking over the weekend. You mean I'm SOL on the detailed stuff for the past week? And I'll only see the averages when I put the SD card in my puter? UGHHH!Slinky wrote:You need the ResScan 3.10 or 3.11 software. Guess I'll pretend I'm starting new again tonight. Sheeesh!
but thanks Slinky LOL

Don't worry about deleting the data on the card.

Yes, Slinky, my DME has been wonderful! I have no complaints at all about her.
My doctor seems to "run behind" on things and she is a great go-between to keep him updated
on what I need. She's really good at answering any of my questions and seems to be knowledgeable and
willing to help. I can call her any time and ask her something! I think I may be one of the lucky ones!
ackpapguy...I'm not at home right now. I'll look at my oxygen machine when I get home and give you more info on it.
It is smaller than my last monster one....is black instead of white....a lot quieter. I can even pick it up by the handle, so it's not as heavy as the last one. That's all I really know about it though until I get back home and take a better look at it.
I guess I won't see last night's stats, but want to figure out tonight how to "unlock" those stats. I think she must have accidentally locked them for me after she showed them to me. She knew that's why I wanted this machine, so I know she didn't mean to lock them away from me. I'll just have to figure out how to unlock them or give her a call.
This isn't my first good night of sleep...the cpap machine has helped with that. But my oxyen was still dropping to 82, so I still felt tired and drained the next day, but not as bad as i did pre-cpap days. I'm sleeping much better (although I still wake up a few times through the night)...but I'm just reverting back to the tired, draggy feeling the next day and I figure it's because of my oxygen dropping. So, I'm really looking forward to being energetic again like I was on the oxygen alone. I was a new person this summer. I'll have more time to read the board this weekend to find my answers to the machine.

Re: Got my new machine tonight and not sure what to do....
My data was blocked for the first 2 MONTHS,
(I didn't even know it was there until I read about it HERE--
my DME guy turned it on after I asked)
but I can go back and see it all on my computer; so yours is still there, too.
I've been keeping a notebook and writing down my hours, AHI, and leak numbers every morning.
I have since added my morning glucose reading and my Lantus dosage and time each evening.
I'm taking the notebook to my PCP in 2 weeks.
