Can using or not using the humidifier effect AHI?
I have been playing around with my humidifier settings trying to find a comfortable setting and was just wondering.

allergies in the fallAttempting to escape fall allergens by staying indoors probably won't work, Portnoy said, because low humidity inside homes is another major trigger of nasal and lung allergy symptoms. Low humidity dries out mucous membranes and leads to inflammation, while cold, dry air causes the lining of the nose to become swollen, resulting in a stuffy and runny nose.

Yes, please enlighten me.......My relentless mask alterations have resulted in zero leaks for several days. The total nasal congestion I experience is horrendous.AHI's are in the 20's instead of single digits.
Half the water is gone from the tank by morning. It is NOT making it up my nose. The Fit Life total mask allows for my mouth breathing within it.Mouth is totally dry. Wake-ups are 4-8 per nite. The morning headache and feeling awful is WRONG. I check the heater plate (2i Resmed) it is warm, not hot, and the water is warm. The fan is strong. I strip the hose cover off and open window fully at my head. Try settings between 1-6. Only by morning am I getting some moisture. 50 degrees outside + humidity in Seattle WA. No heat in house and machine is lower than bed. Hose has support in air.
Called DME, no help. "Everything is fine". I just can't believe it. Call my sleep Dr. get an emergency appt. She can't figure it out. My read out makes no sense. (But that is another story for another post.) RX was changed-recommendation to sleep w/ a nasal mask. Back to the DME. After running machine a short time- without humidifier in place- she announces it's just fine. This assumption was arrived at ,by touching base plate after a few seconds of running and checking for fan blowing by placing hand over it's port. Come on, a several thousand dollar machine and some factory default can't be changed to increase out put? Do other humidifiers have more capacity to push more humidified air out? I want one, give me a stand alone if that is what it takes.
