How many of you have AHI consistancy?
I'm just wondering how many of you have relatively consistant AHI readings every night? My readings are always all over the place no matter what pressure settings I have. My pressure settings I have been on now have been min. of 12.6 max of 2 for the last month and a half or so. My AHI readings sometimes are less than two one night, the next 5 or so. Leaks have been pretty good. 95% pressures are always different and higher than my minumum settings.
Thanks for you input!!!

mine are between 1 and 1.5 most every night, maybe once a month it will go over 2
Re: How many of you have AHI consistancy?
Mine are consistently between 0.2 and 0.8. Every once in a while I get a 0.0.

My AHI is usually in the 1.5 - 2.5, with a 5 every week or so. The biggest factor seems to be how my head is situated - if I roll off my pillow and lay on the bare mattress, its a 5. If I stay on the pillow elevating my neck, its in the 1's or 2's.

Re: How many of you have AHI consistancy?
mine were all over the place, then I figured out that whatever my ahi was corresponded with my sleeping positions..
If I sleep on my stomach Im about 0.3 at four cm and on my sides under 1.5 to 1.0...
on my back.... usually over five sometimes seven or eight.. and that was at a high apap range...
I never felt any different no matter what the ahi was though.. it could be seven or zero point one, still felt the same..
and the morning of my sleep study with an ahi of 43 and 86 arousals in one hour, I felt the same that morning too..
I dont think these apneas affect me at all as far as how i feel during the day..... not one little bit......
(but the machine sure makes me feel like crap!)

Re: How many of you have AHI consistancy?
My average since I started CPAP is 1.1.
In the three months since I first had access to efficacy data, my readings usually range between 1.5 and 0.4.
I have two perfect 0.0's and two higher than 2, at 2.3 and 2.4.
Props to the sleep lab--they apparently titrated me right on the nose--14 cm h2o--with EPR = 3
I'm not concerned about position--just keeping my FX quiet.

I don't have consistent readings either. Lowest 1.3 others 2-4. Started at a pressure of 9 now at 12.6. Doesn't seem to make a difference. Will keep trying to get it down

Re: How many of you have AHI consistancy?
My last 2 nights AHI was 1.6. My average since July 9th when I started using the s9 is 3.1. I know everyone's objective is to have a 0.0 but I don't get concerned unless it's over 5.

Mine are usually at 2 sometimes a 1. I have a party when they are a 0 (a couple of times) - Kim

Newbie with only two weeks of data. So far all readings have been between 0.3 and 1.7. Half are below 1.0 and half are above.

1.6 for the last 30 days. It amazes me that I can have such varying results with the exact same routine every night. The human body is definitely not a predictable thing!

Re: How many of you have AHI consistancy?
Mine are all over the place, somewhere between 5 and 12, mostly in the 6-8 range.
I've tried everything I can think of to get consistant numbers, with no luck so far.

Re: How many of you have AHI consistancy?
P2B, you're right to include regular checking of your leak rate when you're looking at AHI numbers. I've been able to keep my leak rate flat for the past 2 years since starting cpap...at least once I go through the first couple of nights with a new mask, experimenting to get it adjusted. My AHI has remained acceptable and stable, between 1.5 and 2.5 with FFM's, and 0.5 to 1.4 with nasal pillows and mouth taping. I've never understood why the difference between the two types of masks, but it is significant to note that I always have apneas (2-6 is typical each night) with FFM's, and almost never have them with the pillows/taping. Have messed with increasing my pressure with the FFM's, and have never resolved those differences. Just the way it is, I'm afraid.

Re: How many of you have AHI consistancy?
My AHI's are very consistent--around 0.5 every night, plus or minus 0.3 (0.2 to 0..
It's been my unscientific observation that people using PR S1's have lower AHI's than people with other machines, on average. One of these days it would be interesting to set up a poll about this and see if my theory holds up.

Re: How many of you have AHI consistancy?
I've been using CPAP for almost a year. These last 30 days my AHI average is 0.5 and the AHI range was 0.0 (three nights) to 1.3. For the last week or so, I have been sleeping through the night without any conscious awakenings and waking up in exactly the same side-sleeping position that I fell asleep in (no turning), yet my AHI results have varied from 0.0 to 1.3. Almost all my events on the S9 are recorded as central apneas. Even at pressure as low as 6.0, I rarely have any obstructive apneas.
