I've been using single pressure CPAP for about two weeks now. I have a little ramp of about 5 minutes before it reaches my pressure of 12 cm. I've been noticing that when I wake up in the morning, the mask isn't leaking (by touch / feel) but the pressure does not feel as strong. When I first fall asleep, my cheeks puff out as it blows air into my mouth. When I wake up, it feels very light.
Do you know what might be causing the feeling? Am I loosing pressure? Does the depletion of the humidifer water change the airflow? Is it just perception?
Also, my humidifier uses a lot of water. I'm having to top it off every night. It goes from max fill to about 1/4 tank per night. Does that sound unusual to you?
Cheers,
Cory

Re: CPAP pressure slacking off throughout the night?
Many of us find that when we wake up in the mornings, it feels as if there is no pressure at all, since we are so used to the pressure.
Re: CPAP pressure slacking off throughout the night?
I don't know if it applies to your machine, but some have a deliberate lowering of pressure when you wake up (it knows!), and you might want to check into that to see if you have it enabled. As far as the dryness goes... you're in Phoenix!

I don't use ramp.
I go to full throttle up immediately.
I don't notice the pressure at all anymore.
More often than not, I will wake up and
not even notice the mask.
It's a good thing.
Enjoy!

Re: CPAP pressure slacking off throughout the night?
I have awoke many times thinking it is not working and then I pull my mask from my face and I feel the pressure. Also when you wake up before you turn the S9 off, touch the silver button (or any button but the off button) and it will show you what pressure you are at. My humidifier is now also using water. In August it didn't use any but now that the air temp is in the 40's and we are heating the house, the humidifier uses more water.

Re: CPAP pressure slacking off throughout the night?
I had that problem with an S8 Elite 2.
The pressure started out fine, but by the middle of the night it would go down to almost nothing. I finally had my DME replace that machine, and had no problem with the new one.
It's not a common problem, but neither is it un-common. It's more likely that you're getting used to the pressure and don't feel it as much. but there IS a chance that it IS your machine. IMO, the best way to see is if there is a drastic change in your AHI over several nights. If there is, then have your DME check out your machine.
