Calist is somebody who's started posting recently and has an attitude problem. Basically a sleep tech with a "God" complex.

I knew there was somthing good behind that. You won't find that from me. I googled this stuff today and found it and had seen many posts looking for it so I thought I would post the links and share.cflame1 wrote:Calist is somebody who's started posting recently and has an attitude problem. It's funny how healthcare workers often become jaded. My wife was telling me last night about a lady in the recovery ward where she works. She had Munchausen Syndrome, and had stuck a knife into her (very ample) belly a week ago. Sturgeon fixed her up and sent her home after a few days. Hospital doesn't have a Psych ward, so she stayed in a regular room. Probably didn't get the attention she needed/craved, 'cause a few days after she went home, she ripped the stitches out and her entrails actually protruded through the wound, not to get too graphic, but it's part of my point.
This lady was in Recovery and the sturgeon and all the staff were being really rude to her. Sturgeon lectured her and told her she was wasting his and the staff's with her antics. My wife said she was horrified at the attitude her colleagues displayed towards their patient who was middle-aged, horribly overweight, diabetic, with a history of self-mutilation. She said she had some spare time and talked with her a little and found she had no family and no friends who would come to see her. Everyone had just given up on her. So my wife just sat with her and held her hand and they both cried.
My wife said she might have died; she was in such back shape. And since she had been moved to another ward, HIPAA regs forbid her from asking where she went, or what became of her.
Don't know how much of what my wife witnessed was "tough love" verses a jaded team of healthcare professionals. I can understand why people become jaded, but at some point you have to take a step back, and a few deep breaths, and ask yourself why you're doing what you're doing.
