IntelliPAP question
IntelliPAP question
I'm looking at getting a new CPAP, my Fisher and Paykal 234 doesn't have flow control, so I thought I'd upgrade, and the mask that came with it (over the nose type) is uncomfortable.
The problem with the mask is mostly when I roll on my side, not sure how much another one will help, so I ordered an Opus 360 Nasal Pillow.
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/fisher ... -Mask.html
Now I'd like to order the "IntelliPAP Standard Plus CPAP Machine with SmartFlex"
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/devilb ... chine.html
My questions....
Am I right reading that there is no SenseAwake feature on the IntelliPAP?
What should I order for data access? I hope I just need the $40 software...
I have a pile of SD cards, readers... Do I need the cable? It doesn't sound like it, but when I read the info about the Therapy Module, "allows you to download data from your IntelliPAP machine onto a SmartLink Memory Card" - which is very confusing. Maybe older models required it?
Therapy Module https://www.cpap.com/productpage/devilb ... odule.html
Therapy Management Software https://www.cpap.com/productpage/devilb ... tware.html.
I'd like to thank all the people who have posted their experiences, even if the conclusions are mostly preference, with a 50/50 or so yea and nah on most things
When I first saw the price on a IntelliPAP, I thought it might be junk, but from what I've read, it is a quality device at 1/2 the price

Re: IntelliPAP question
I have the IP (Auto, though) and I have set it to go on when I put on the mask, and go off when I remove it (though it doesn't always seem to work as well as the 'on' part), but the setting choice is there. Is that what you meant by 'sense awake'?
Re: IntelliPAP question
If you can afford the little extra get the Intellipap Auto. Even with the software and module the standard only provides min data.
The auto without the software and module provides a good overview of the data using smartcodes. You enter the code displayed on your machine into a website and it generates a report. This report is a overview of the night, 7 days, 30 days, and 90 days. With the software and module you get detailed by the hr reports.

Re: IntelliPAP question
DeVilbiss is a company that has been in business over 120 yrs. I have the new Intellipap Auto Adjust w/Smartflex and love it. It is super quiet and the Auto does allow you to have the detailed reports from the SmartLink software. It is very much worth getting the auto, I think.
SenseAwake, from what I have read is where the machine reduces the pressure upon awakening... right? The Intellipap doesn't really have that specifically, but it does have Auto on/off when it senses you initial breathing into the mask and when the mask is removed. It also has Delay which is like Ramp.
Feel free to PM me if you have questions..... I purchased my machine and humidifier from http://www.secondwindcpap.com and got a great deal. Our host site also carries it.

Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.
Re: IntelliPAP question
Thanks for all the input!
So it will start and stop on it's own, I had no idea reading the description it would do that.
I found this on another thread, "Fisher and Paykal the SleepStyle 254 or the ICON Auto both utilize the Sensawake algorithm that senses when you are waking and lowers the pressure"
I guess the IntelliPAP doesn't have this feature, but I'm such a heavy sleeper I suspect it wouldn't help much anyway.
Is there really a difference in reporting between the Auto and Standard? I was reading the official site, it doesn't say much.
I'll put an extra 100 into it if I have to... is the extra feedback part of the APAP process? Or because the APAP is newer? The InteliPAP mystery.

Re: IntelliPAP question
This chart will show the difference that the Smart Code info will give you for Cpap vx. Auto https://bb4b1663da2f8a31ea1b-be9b2e315e ... arison.jpg
and this description of the software tells you what it will give you for Cpap vs Auto: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/devilb ... ystem.html
Auto machines can be run in straight cpap mode, too. There are distinct advantages to using an Auto so I would say the small difference in price is certainly worth it!

I'll definitely get the Auto.
They should put a warning on the IntelliPAP Standard...
Re: IntelliPAP question
i got the Opus 360 Nasal Pillow, it is 100x better for comfort over a the nose-cover type that came with my CPAP.
I have to adjust it down some, it was giving me burps.

Re: IntelliPAP question
ALERT!!! The Icon looks attractive; but there are several models.
It appears the price belies the lack of advanced data on some models.
There appears to be an Auto icon with only compliance data.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
