I think I've made it to the promised land!

Post by cjulia » Sun Sep 12, 2010 11:41 am

So I started with the cpap therapy about a month ago. Let's just say that I was sorely disappointed with the results at first. I started with nasal pillows and wasn't sure whether they were working or not (due to leaking, fit, etc.) I tried different sizes, I adjusted the pressure, I adjusted the humidity. I even tried using a nasal mask which I immediately hated. I went back to the pillows and since I now had a new perspective after using another type pf mask, I realized that maybe it was working. Then I started paying more attention to how I felt when I was awake instead of what was going on while I was sleeping. I observed that I wasn't taking naps as much and even when I felt tired, a nap wasn't essential. I could work through the fatigue. Also, I started waking up more refreshed. I could wake up and immediately start facing the day. I noticed that I wasn't as grumpy (which was the best effect of all).
Truth is, many people on this forum told me this would happen and thank goodness they did. Honestly, if it wasn't for this forum I would have given up (patience is something I'm working on). Thanks to those that responded to my posts and gave advice even when the questions I had were probably answered a thousand times before.
