Re: Atlanta Area Meetup 9/11/10 10:30AM
Hi all! Sorry to say I won't be able to make it to the meeting I've got a SOA Examination on Wednesday, I've got to study. True measure whether memory/executive abilities have returned. Not going to take any chances....
I attribute so much of my therapy success to our Group. Our Group Meetings have truly made a huge difference and I'm able to do now, what I haven't been able to do in years. Quick update since I won't be there:
AHI=0 65% of the time
AHI .1 < .5 30% of the time
AHI .5 < 1.2 5 % of the time
Sleeping 7 to 7 1/2 hours and waking up fully refreshed. **My eureka moment was discovering that once sleep deficit was gone, a bad AHI night was not devastating. Ex. With EDS/sleep deficit, a night with 5-10 apnea, felt so so awful the next day.**
As of today, have lost 40 lbs. I feel great!!! Thanks Muse, I didn't know Atkins was a 'fat diet', not high protein. On fitday.com, I make sure protein stays less than 30% so it doesn't become Glucose. Wow, nice catch!!!
A few days ago, I began jogging about three miles. I take a five minute break or two, but I'm getting stronger!! Atlanta is beautiful this time of year. So nice to jog early in the morning .
As stated before, I'm studying. As the scientists have concluded, memory/executive abilities can come back. Just like the exercising, I'm stepping things up very gradually and not being hard on myself.
Hope all are doing well!! I will certainly miss all of you!!! Again, thanks so much for the Group. I can hardly begin to thank you enough!!
Take care,
Mark L aka Supergeeky

Except for this month's meeting, I post about 10-14 days in advance and we bump to the top once or twice to remind those in/close to the Atlanta area to come join us.msradar65 wrote:I wish I could attend. I'll be 5 hrs away. Maybe I can catch the next meeting when I am in Atlanta.

Thanks Rogue Uvula! I'll catch up with you, hope Doc Appt. went well
Rickelia, it's a wonderful Group! I hope you attend!! It's informative, but fun also!! It's 'talk till you drop', five hours or so but a few leave before that. Actually, hard to tear yourself away from the Group to leave! Everybody shares successes and problems to be solved. And, many problems get solved...
take care,
SG

Ah yes, that's so true (you & I know that well ) but tomorrow, I & BeanMeScot will be leaving early: she's got her overseas vacation coming up and I have 'stuff' to do in the afternoon.SuperGeeky wrote:...It's 'talk till you drop', five hours or so but a few leave before that. I will bring my cervical collar for show & tell. Rogue, I'm getting the all the pieces of a Hybrid together so you can try it until next meeting to see if it works for you.

Great! I've been wondering what I'd do if my sinuses shut down my nasal mask!Muse-Inc wrote: Rogue, I'm getting the all the pieces of a Hybrid together so you can try it until next meeting to see if it works for you.

Hi Atlanta CPAP'ers,
I have returned to this forum after a long break from posting ,but not a long break from the CPAP. In fact, I just celebrated my 3rd anniversary this past July. So, I will watch for the next meeting and show up.
And thank God for my machine. I am certain it has saved my life.

Unless we have conflicts, the Meeting is the Third Saturday of the month. Muse, did you and the Group decide on Oct. 16??
