no software, cant get software, sleep study

Post by Junaid » Fri Sep 03, 2010 3:57 am

im in South Africa and tried purchasing software but suppliers only sell it to sleep clinics.

How do i figure out whats going on when Im asleep without the software? I have unlimited in-hospital benefit so sleep studies dont cost me a thing. do i go for regular sleep studies to see if eveything is working ok? can sleep studies do that, are the results a true reflection seeing that it is a snap shot and not a trend?

You can purchase the software for your machine at our host's site: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/devilb ... ystem.html You will need to purchase an SD card to use in the module. I don't know what the international shipping charges are, but you can email them or call to find out. Good luck!

I should have said that in the meantime, you can use the Smart Code on the machine to get a general snapshot on how you've done each day. To use this function do this:

1. Each day you can retrieve the smart code for the night before by using the left or right arrow buttons right under the LCD display window. You will see the first item that comes up is Smart Code 1 Day. Jot this code down.... it is always is a series of 4 - 3- 4 digits/letters. Once you have your code....

2. Go to this site: https://www.intellipap.com/default.aspx

3. Click on the tab for the DV54 Auto Adjust machine (3rd tab over) and then input the code in the first line... when you click you will the spaces appear for the 4 -3 -4 digit code. You don't need to fill in anything else to get your report.

4. Scroll down and submit to generate the report.

5. When the report appears, scroll down to see the summary report with the info on your AHI, leaks, pressure, etc. If you have trouble understanding, click the Help button at the top to go to the explanations.

Hope that helps while you are waiting on your software.

I believe it is desirable for the user to have the software but I will suggest that it does't tell you how you are doing. What is important is the quality of your sleep and the impact on your life.

The software is useful in gaining insight that may help you improve your treatment. It provides objective data that may be insightful. Low numbers does not necessarily guarantee that you are all right.

If you feel good then you have little or no need for looking at the detailed data.

Kevin - he doesn't feel good, which is why he's writing - look at his previous threads.

Junaid, hope Emilia's advice works out for you and you can get the software. You've been trying so hard to be successful and having the daily data is so important. Wish you the best.
