I went to the DME today because of a problem with my mask and dumped my frustration on the therapist. At least I warned her first that I was exhausted and apologized in advance! I told her I was having problems trusting the shop because they'd sent me home the first day knowing I had leak issues with the mask they gave me instead of fitting it for me or having me try a different one- and had the leak alarm turned off. And that the second mask wasn't fitted with the machine even though I asked if I could bring it in. Got a replacement for that one today because a valve was leaking.
Anyway, I whined about not being able to see any data to see if I was getting anything out of the treatment since I'm still exhausted and waking up many, many times during the night. Tech said I was probably not waking up as often as I thought, but then to show me that she printed out the data for the past couple of nights. I never fell into a decent breathing rhythm/sleep pattern for more than half an hour at a time, and it appears that whenever I go into REM I am still having 2-3 obstructions. So tomorrow I graduate from a CPAP to either an APAP or BIPAP after she consults my sleep doctor to see which he wants and what pressures to set.

Sometimes we HAVE to be the squeaky wheel in order to get what we need. Yay!!!!!
I feel for those who are too tired and worn out to fight, or haven't found this forum and don't know any better!!!
Let us know how it goes.

oh wow...
I wonder if you can ask for the "loaner" machines and try
one apap
one bipap and see which you like better?
do you have a high pressure, or do you struggle breathing against the machine, or have a bit of a lung dysfunction..
bipap might be a good choice then..
I have tried cpap, apap, bipap... my favorite is bipap
