Hey everyone,

great forum!

Completed sleep study and on 7-18 I was told I have severe apnea. AHI was 61

I was supplied with a ResMed S9 set to 9 cm - I tried a couple different nasal masks and pillows and was having hard time adjusting. It was also noted after about a week or so that 9cm most likely wasnt enough pressure and I was put on auto titration from 9 to 20 cm. I also tried a Mirage Quattro full face and liked it alot. Things have been better but Im still waking up a couple times a night. My week average with the FF mask and auto setting is about 12.8 cm. My sleep therapist said the machine adjusts pressure rather slow and I may be having some small apneas that bring me out of deep sleep before machine can react but he wanted to see 2 full weeks of data before making any pressure changes. I know how to change settings and Im tempted to crank it up to 13 and give it a go but not sure if I should???

Hi, as you can change your settings, try 9 or 10 through 13 or so - leaving the top end at 20 forces the machine to work too hard chasing odd events that it won't catch and is rather pointless.

Are you saying to start at 13 to go 13 to 20?
If you can tolerate it that might work for you.

It shouldn't go higher than the 12.8 avg unless you are having leaks or more events.
But to avg 12.8 it is indeed going higher.
Do you have the software?

No, I suggested setting it at 9 for the lower # (as it is already) and 13-ish for the higher one instead of 20.
