RB - - I'm not sure this will fix it, but it's worth a try.
Add another "active user" and download to it.
I was a happy EncoreViewer 1 user with my M series AFLEX machine. When my insurance gave me a freebie PR-1 aflex, I upgraded to the EncoreViewer 2 software, and found that it would not play nicely with my M-series data until I gave myself a new and different "active user" name. Now, when I download an evening from the PR-1 data chip, it goes to one active user; and when I use the M-series machine (I use it for travel), the Smartcard data go to the original active user. And the program is happy this way, and I have absolutely no idea as to why.
This is not your situation, of course, but adding yourself as a second user with a slightly different name couldn't hurt anything. (Actually, now that I think of it, first you might try calling whoever sold you the program, and asking if they know of the symptom)
Good luck!

Thanks team!
So I decided to install the software on a different PC, and sure enough the past three nights of data popped up. The PC I was using showed the USB port to be working, and was clearly recognizing the smart card reader. It's an older PC, something was just off on it. So the lesson learned from this post- try another computer!
Thanks again to all of you!
