yay, got the graph

Post by sleepymama » Sun Aug 29, 2010 8:57 pm

thanks alot everyone at chat tonight for helping me figure out how to copy a graph. and now i present to you last night reading. maybe someone understands it more then i do. all i know is that i slept a long time and woke up tired. hubby said i was leaking (he's learned the noise it makes) which i can see from my graph now just how much. not sure what's normal or not. i'll let you decide. might try a nasal mask this week to see if the leaking happens as much as with the pillows. it could very well be that i can't keep my trap shut and then i will have to find other alternatives lol

Looks like the kind of leak line I get if I don't put tape over my mouth. Yep.

Yeah, focus on leaks for now - they are definitely out of control.
Tell your husband to keep an ear out for mouth breathing. Since you are just starting, it is entirely possible that your mask is leaking when you shift positions and bump it or whatever.

I will try to pop it in the mail tomrrrow.. you are leaking like a tea strainer!

I did that too, dont feel bad, its hard to keep your trap shut..

till then you can try some medical paper tape, or painters blue tape..

look forward to more of your graphs!

Yeah, that leak line is bad. Like the other poster said, don't feel bad. My graph looked very similar to yours.

Are the leaks coming from your mouth (mouth breathing) or from the nasal pillows? If your mouth is really dry -- like REALLY dry -- you are mouth breathing. If not, it might just be mask leaks. See if your spouse can give you an idea.

Have you tried a chinstrap? If not, I recommend the PAPCap by Pursleep. That's the one I use, but it doesn't work for everyone. It's the best one out there IMHO. If you use nasal pillows, the Standard cap would probably be fine. If you plan to use a nasal pillow mask, you might want to get the Plus, so you can anchor the mask to the chinstrap instead of the headgear.

How do you print out a graph? New to this, don't even know how to read my machine. Would like to do so before my appointment this Friday. Any and all help reading and understanding is appreciated. Thanks!

when you are on the program and are viewing your graph you hit the ctrl button along with the prtsc button (print screen, my computer has it beside the F12 button) and then paste it into a program. i used paint. and voila

Ooooh, you need a program, special software?

Are there any readings I can get from the machine itself? All it seems to tell me is what the titration is when ramping and if my mask is on correctly.

Yes, a lot of data can be viewed on the screen of your machine, but your ever helpful health care and DME providers must have locked you out. I don't know Resmeds, but hopefully someone will be along soon to teach you the "secret handshake" so you can get into the clinician's menu and enable the settings that will allow you to see your data.

You need special software to download the data to your computer and someone will have to PM you about how to get the software.

Ahh, I will bring the whole machine to my doctor's appointment Friday, and hopefully he will teach me the secret handshake.
