anyone have the encore viewer software for the m series pro?

Post by ephskiing377 » Thu Aug 26, 2010 10:58 am

Fellow cpaper,
I am looking for the encore viewer software for the remstar m series pro cpap machine. I was wondering if anyone had a copy that they could lend to me. I don't have the finances available to purchase the software and I already have the card reader. If anyone could help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for you help.

Sincerely,
Chad

You're looking for Respironic's Encore Viewer when you list a ResMed S8 AutoSet II in your profile?

Fellow cpapers,
Yes I am looking for the remstar encore viewer for my other machine. I already have the software for my resmed machine. I just can't seem to get my ahi down to under 5 with my resmed s8 auto. Its always been around 7.0- 15.0. My ai is sometimes fine, usually between 0.0- 5.0 and my hi is usually around 7.0-10.0. I just can't seem to understand why this is. My leak rate with my mirage liberty is always under 0.4 L/S. So I'm really confused. Any one have some insight on why my ahi is so high? Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks a bunch!

Sincerely,
Chad

Simple it's because Resmed scores hi's higher than Respironics. You are trying to compare Apples ans Oranges... Jim

Might try a mask with a lower controlled leak rate.

When using a ResMed S8 series machine, I'd not worry about the "HI" (hypopnea index) at all. I'd look just at the "AI" (apnea index.)

If the AI is very low, and if it's the HI that is making the bulk of the overall AHI, I'd be happy and not give the HI part of it another thought. I'd figure I was getting effective treatment if the ResMed S8 reported a very low Apnea Index... regardless of what it said about the Hypopnea index or the overall AHI (apnea index and hypopnea index added together = the apnea/hypopnea index...the "AHI".)

If I were going to try to compare a ResMed S8's results with the results from a Respironics machine, I'd mentally cut the ResMed's HI in half. I'd add the HI that I had cut in half to the AI and consider that new (lower) total AHI to be the number from my ResMed machine to compare to the Respironic's AHI.
