I have had the PR system one auto with A flex.. It has a double filtration system, the grey foam pad which is washable and reusable, and the white
filter which is disposable.. This is what I LIKED about the machine. I am a very shallow breather, so that was not an issue for me.

I turned in my system one in before thirty days were up due to the noise it made, not from the filter, but a high pitched tone, like an accutron
tuning fork watch.. IT drove me friggen insane. It also has a pressure pulse feature which blows puffs of air at you if you dont take a breath
in thirteen seconds after an exhale.. NOT GOOD FOR SHALLOW BREATHERS! No shallow breathers should ever consider this machine. That
function CANT be shut down.. so, once you complain about it, they have to replace it for you.. there is NO way to fix that function to stop it.
It will keep you from getting any sleep, when you are constantly disturbed by it.

So I took it back, I traded it in for a resmed s9 autoset. This machine is so quiet, you can barely here it. Many people say they keep checking
to see if its on or plugged in. This has daily stats on the screen unlike the S1, and an sd card you can easily stick in your computer to download
incredible amounts of data.
The filter on the s nine is one little tiny white disposable pad, I think its a pretty crummy filtration system for such a high tech machine..
That is my only complaint, otherwise, this is probably one of the best machines you can get on the market right now.

I hope that helps.. Since march, I have has an s8, pr one auto, s9 autoset, now experimenting with vpap

Whimper.
I waiver between getting a better nights sleep and listening to Darth Vader every night.

I'll be talking to my DME immediately.

Only had my S-9 for over a month and no complaints here.

Quiet, small, easy to use.

I've had my S9 since July 30th.

Most of the times it's very, very quiet. I have noticed though on the few occasions when the machine felt I needed to be at a higher pressure (mine is currently set 5 - 20 while we figure out where I should be) that the machine can really wheeze. When I've gone back in to check the data, it seems to correspond to a pressure in the 15.5 - 16.5 range. It was enough of a change it woke me up, which stopped the apneas, I stopped the machine, started breathing and the machine restarted.

I've got an appointment with the RT this week, so I'm going to mention it to her. Maybe see if we can't duplicate the issue in the office.

If I've got to sleep with a machine, this one has been pretty good.

I have been using the S9 for 4 months now. I find it very quiet and so does my partner. I have it set at 10 and don't hear a thing.

I also have the S9 autoset and the only way I can tell that it is on is to stick my hand in front of the vent port on the mask. The machine is almost completely silent.
APAP Pressure of 12-20, EPR of 3, CMS-50F Oximeter, PapCap, and Regenesis Pillow. 200mg Provigil in the AM. Also diagnosed with Idiopathic Hypersomnia.

If your pressure gets up to 16.5, it's a sure bet that your minimum of 5 is way too low.

What is your 95 centile pressure (the pressure number displayed by the LCD).

It's all over ... low of 8.8, high of 16.6.

Median pressures 7.1 - 10.3.

I have the S9 auto and my only complaint I have is now I can hear the traffic outside, the dog barking across the street and of course my wifes snoring. That being said I run at about 14.5 pressure and I have to look and see if it is running. I think it is a great machine. When I was looking into different machines I considered both and I was at my DME and was able to try the system one and in a busy, noisy office it was loud. I think the S9 is a great machine.
