newbie liberty help - stupid question

Post by Taxcat » Tue Aug 24, 2010 8:40 pm

I just got the Resmed Liberty mask to try from my DME this afternoon. One problem - My climate line hose will not connect to the mask. Do I need some sort of adapter? What am I missing here? Can anyone tell me how I get my mask to connect to my hose? I really didn't think it would be that difficult.

Thanks,

there should have been a short hose with a swivel connector with the liberty -

Thanks for the reply.

My mask did come with a short hose with a swivel connector, but the swivel connector is too long and wide to fit into the climate line hose connector

hmm - what about your current mask? does it use an adapter of some kind? I don't know the S9 myself as I am an old Remstar tank user.

It shouldn't be too large, mine goes over just fine.

Except, did you maybe leave the swivel connector off of your previous mask still in the hose?

My old mask the mirage quattro had a its own quick connect that fit into my hose just fine. That is still with my old mask. The connector with my liberty is long and smooth and slightly tapered. It will only fit into the end of my climate line hose part of the way. The connector on my hose has ridges like that of a screw - It is expecting something to screw into it. The connector on my old mask had the corresponding ridges to fit into this end of the hose. I have tried to see if the connector on the hose end can come off, but it does not. I guess I will not be able to use the new mask tonight. I will have to go back to my DME tomorrow.

Thanks,

Elizabeth

that piece comes with the quatro - it is gray - the clear piece it attaches to might have the "screw" connection you are referring to - the gray piece connects with the standard hose I know - I have a quatro mask myself and just looked

Thanks. I feel really stupid. I tried and tried and could not seem to get that gray piece out off of the end of my hose. I finally was able to pry it off and now everything fits just fine. Thanks again.

Yeah!!!!
I was going to suggest that. I'm test driving a quattro and the RT reminded me that sometimes that gray piece comes off and gets stuck in the tubing. I'm glad you figured it out. How'd it work last night?
