Alright... Last Tuesday I had my followup with my sleep doctor, during which time he recommended I up my pressure by 1 cm. He asked if I could do it myself and I said yeah, then he said, great, but he'll fax the change to my DME anyway because they're "responsible" for it.
So I went home and blip, changed that pressure through Encore Pro...no problem (tnx Kemosabe). No need to even enter the "secret menu".
Now, almost fully a week later, I get a message on my machine from the DME that I need to bring my machine in to have the pressure changed!!
Little late guys....
So my question IS.... Do I even bother to call these people back?!?!?
Ha.
What does the "D" stand for in DME?

You're most welcome. Happy to help.So I went home and blip, changed that pressure through Encore Pro...no problem (tnx Kemosabe).
Hmmm... maybe leave a message on their voicemail after hours: "Thanks for calling but I've got it sorted."?So my question IS.... Do I even bother to call these people back?!?!?
It was brought up on another post that perhaps your insurance will give you a hard time if "things" aren't performed by the DME. You should check. I am giving the DME my card tomorrow for a read out, seeing my doc in 2 weeks and will call the insurance company and fight with them to FINALLY purchase it. Then I will get the software and with the help of Lori & Wading thru the Muck, who offered their help if needed I will be free of the DME's forever (I hope).

If the unit has been purchased from the DME by your insurance company, then the settings shouldn't matter to them. However, if your CPAP is still on rental, then, from the other side of the fence, you should at least keep them in the loop because it is still "their" machine. Depending on your DME, they may also have routine maintenance/ equipment checks to do on it (we have to check our rental CPAPs every 6 months) and would need to know the pressure difference.
