Humidity and a Sore Nose?

Post by D-mo » Tue Aug 24, 2010 1:16 pm

After about 3 weeks on my S8 Auto, I have be starting to get a sore nose, just where the Swift FX pillows "attach" to my nose. Would this be a problem due to too much humidity put out my the machine (currently on humity 2).. or another problem that im not understanding (perhaps mask on too tight). It is quite uncomfortable when I put the mask on at night, however I can't even notice it during the day. My nose is very clogged up in the morning once i wake up ... and seems to run most of the day ...
any thoughts would be appreciated.

D-Mo, The soreness probably isn't caused by the humidifier. It's more likely due to pressure or contact irritation. Pressure can be eased by padding (bandaids, moleskin, etc) and the contact irritation can be eased by keeping your mask & face clean (or, for some, letting your face's natural oil help make a good seal. Whichever works best for you!) The stuffy nose probably IS caused by the humidifier. Try turning it down for a few nights; if that doesn't work, try turning it up. Again, some people do better moving in one direction, others do better moving in another. The good news is that both of these situations are manageable!
