Website certificate problem?

Post by xyz » Mon Aug 23, 2010 5:53 pm

When I log in with my username and password I get the following error message:

"There is a problem with this website's security certificate.
The security certificate presented by this website has expired or is not yet valid.
Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.
We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this website."

I get this from two different computers (Vista and XP Pro), both with IE8.

Today is the first time that I have ever seen it for this site.
I have logged into multiple other sites today wth no problems.

Is anyone else seeing this message?

Yes, I am. Firefox is telling me the certificate is outdated.
I made an exception and signed in anyway.

Yes, I called cpapdotcom a little while ago and was told they're doing updates and we'd be all fixed "soon". I can sign in and post but I can't reply to any PMs, I get the Security Certification Error.

Yep -- I'm signed in constantly, so I only get it for PMs -- but you can tell you browsed to ignore the warning and go to the site anyway -- and then you can read and reply to PMs.

Sorry, but I feel that this is an inexcusable oversight.

Howdy All,

The certificate is renewed. The emails were not coming through as CPAPtalk.com was registered by proxy and the cert company couldn't get the whois email.

There's encryption and there's the confirmation that there is encryption. The error was with the certificate and never the encryption itself. Though its annoying and worrying to get that message, and its been fixed, login security levels were unchanged.
