Help with Numbers Please ! EncoreViewer 2.0

Post by animallover13 » Thu Aug 19, 2010 8:35 pm

Hi all !
Just received my Encore Viewer 2.0 today and am so excited to be pro-active in my therapy ! I would like to give you my numbers and get some feedback.
These numbers are from 7/20 thru 8/18/10, I must mention from 7/20 thru 8/2 I was using a FF Quattro and could see during that time period there were alot of large leaks. I did not like that mask. I have switched to the LT For Her Nasal pillows beginning on 8/3, which I like alot better btw.
Thank you !
Here are the #'s

CPap pressure 7.0 Average VS index 10.7 (what is vibratory snore?) my husband says he doesn't hear me snore anymore!
Average % of night periodic breathing(what is this?) 0.1% Average % Night in Large Leak 1.7
Average CA index 0.8%
Average OA index 0.5%
Average hypopnea 1.1
Average RERA 0.5
Average AHI 2.4
Average FL 0

Hi,

These numbers appear to look pretty reasonable. You have about 1 central event and one hypo per hour, and one obstructive event every 2 hours. This gives an AHI of 2.4, well under the target of 5.0. Your leaks look to be under control. I tend to be spooked by centrals, so please ask your sleep doctor about this at your follow-up. I don't know if that is something that needs to be treated, or if this is in the acceptable range. The hypos tend not to be too serious. The obstructive events are what you really want to stop, but 4 per night is not out of line.

I suspect that folks here would be interested in seeing your graphs. If you can get them saved to a photo site, you can link to them in a posting. The pressure levels would be good to see, as well as if you are having these events in a cluster.

One possibility is that you are in the zone where a little more pressure would help the obstructive events, but more pressure would add a lot more centrals. That might mean moving to a BiPAP machine rather than CPAP or APAP. It is something that your sleep doctor might want to take a look at.

Thanks John, my homework will be to save my graphs into a PDF file and get them posted here.....after alittle research with my software I know that is how I can save the reports to my computer.
Would really love some feedback now that I have the software, I am still feeling very tired most of the time but am sticking with the program.... feeling tired all the time gets old and it's hard to work full time feeling poorly !
Thanks again!

Hi,

In reading your posting again, it looks like you are 1 month into this? If so, I would have hoped that you would have started to feel better by now. I notice that I don't feel right the next day if I have a night with an AHI of 2.4. I think some people are more sensitive to a handful of events, whereas other people don't notice them too much. For example, I need to be under 1.0 to feel really good. If you are having centrals, that may make it even more tricky to find the sweet spot for your treatment. Seeing your graphs might give some insight. Next would be trying to change the settings that are easy to change. The one that I have in mind is the CFLEX level. Try it on zero for a few nights, and see if you see better AHIs, or if you see more centrals. The theory is that some people have a sleep disturbance from any changes in pressure, and CFLEX changes the pressure down and back up on every breath.

John- yes I am one month into this., and I too thought I would be feeling better by now. I never thought about changing the CFlex, So I can try that tonight. At your suggestion I will put that at zero for a few nights and look at the numbers. I can certainly see that alot of this is "fine-tuning" and getting to that spot can be tricky ! ( Especially when you don't know what you're doing.) You and the others are a great help ! Yay. I will work on trying to get some graphs up here.
By the way, what is a central?

Have a good day,

Nancy
