Think I buggered my SD card for S9

Post by Guest » Tue Aug 17, 2010 2:15 am

Hi,

Now, I have an S9 and a mac with windows running through paralells. I bought myself a regular SD car reader and too the SD from my S9 and plugged him into the reader.... bingo! downloaded all my data!

However, when i put the card back into the S9 it did not recognise it and it gave me the option to delete data to carry on.

What the hell have I done here, when i take it to the doc and nurse, they both read the data and it does nothing like this to the card.

any ideas??

Cheers

Bob

I think you are fine. While I have a built in SD card reader, I use 2 SD cards including 1 which did not come with the S9. It was blank when I started using it. I believe the S9 will populate it as needed when it is in the S9. Using 2 cards does result in redundant data (compliance) and I am frequently prompted to Overwrite or Ignore. I usually ignore. I realize that this is not precisely your situation but I believe even if your card has become cleared/erased you are still OK. Let the S9 rewrite the card and you will be good to go again. Hope this helps.

Hey thanks,

I am kinda worried that when i revisit my doc there will not be any data on the card or he will not be able to read it. I guess i don't want to get told off

Thanks for the response anyway

Bob,

I can't any risk from popping a fresh SD card into the machine, letting the S9 format it and write its data onto it. Use the software to find out what's on the new SD card. You might discover that you now have all your data on the new card and therefore have nothing to worry about.
