help reduce AHI!! please!?!

Post by ephskiing377 » Sat Aug 14, 2010 11:55 am

Fellow cpapers,
I use the resmed s8 autoset II with a pressure range of 12-14cm with the EPR turned off. My titrated pressure is 12cm. I use the resmed mirage liberty full face mask. My nightly leaks are 0.0L/S. So I don't understand why my AHI is the way it is. Lately my AHI has been anywhere from 5.4 to 8.0. Mostly hypoanpeas. My AI index is always 0.0. Any way to reduce my HI index. I am just confused because I know I'm not leaking from my mirage liberty full face mask. Any help from my cpap friends would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,
Chad

Chad, posting both the graphs and the statistics page from ResScan would help a lot. I'm sure you'll get some helpful suggestions if you can post those.

Probably the best way to reduce those S8 hypopneas is to get an S9.....

Ozij has a point!

With the S8, a larger number of hypopneas are identified. It's just the way they machine works. When the S9 was made, Resmed has fixed that situation and reports hypopneas more like other brands of cpaps.

If you stick with the S8, remember that it over reports hypopneas by maybe about 50%. With an AI of 0.0 you are doing fine, if you are feeling more rested!
