Respironics SmartCard Reader Not Detected

Post by greyhound » Fri Aug 13, 2010 1:52 pm

I'm running Encore Pro 1.8.49 on a Windows XP computer. All of a sudden, Encore Pro doesn't seem to be able to find my (Hong Kong) card reader. When I try to download the card's data, I get an error message "Smart Card Reader Not Detected". I know the card is inserted into the reader properly, and I get the message with several different "smart" cards.

Any ideas about what I might try?

I'm running one of the older Mako readers and I have to go into the Windows System menu and remove the smart card reader from the hardware listing, then plug it back in and it reinstalls the driver. Something happened after a Windows update and it's been that way ever since.

Thanks. I've got it working again.

I should have remembered to do this, but maybe I'm sleep deprived.
