I've been on my Resmed S9 Autoset for four days. Today at lunch I looked at my numbers from the night before. I believe they're all good but wasn't sure what AI meant (well, I'm from cattle country so I know what that A.I. means).
Here are the numbers:
AHI — 1.3
Total AI — 1.1
CA — 0.3
Ave. pressure — 7.8 (OK, I know what this means).
I had a short night, only 5.4 hours, but have felt good today. I'll probably crash around 6 p.m.
My model didn't come with the SD card. I'll have to pick that up so I can get a longer range of data.
Thanks.
What do these numbers mean?
Re: What do these numbers mean?
Hi,
AI. means Apnea Index, it is how many apneas you are having an hour. Yours looks good
HI. would be your Hypopnea index, you had none.
CA. is central apneas you might of had per hour .3 is good.

We horsey folks know what that means too, but around here, most everyone goes the "natural" routejtgolfer wrote:I've been on my Resmed S9 Autoset for four days. Looks like you are off to a very good start! How are you feeling? noticing any differences?
Get that SD card just as soon as you can, its so easy to stick it in and see your REAL results.. what really went on.. its amazing, and easy
with the help of these great folks, even I, a computer idiot figured out how to do it and post graphs, and I even printed them and showed them
to my sleep doctor..
Welcome, and hope all your nights ahead are great ones!

Re: What do these numbers mean?
Much to my chagrin, when I went to place an SD card in the S9 I discovered the Resmed card already there. Doh!
Of course, I didn't buy this unit through a medical provider so I'm not yet up to speed on all the bells and whistles. It's just nice not to have air whoosing through you whether you're inhaling or exhaling.
My question is in regard to the data on the card. Can you only send the card in and have a report returned to you? I know I'm being lazy asking here instead of doing the research. I did some but didn't yet find the answer. My computer is a Mac so I'm not expecting any compatibility but I can always run Windows on my Mac.
Thanks in advance.

No, you can view your own data on a Windows machine with the ReScan software by Resmed. I'm not sure if the windows on a Mac will work for sure but you will definitely want to view your own data whenever you want. You will also need an SD card reader in your computer or an external one in order to transfer the data to the computer. My question is in regard to the data on the card. If you have an intel based Macintosh, you can run a program called "Parallels" to enable you to run Rescan. You will want to run a 32-bit version of Windows under Parallels since Rescan only seems to work on 32-bit systems. The only issue that I ran into is that it was confusing on how to add a USB plug to Parallels, and set it that Windows was able to read the USB connection rather than the Macintosh. Once I figured out the steps, Rescan ran perfectly. Encore viewer also works under Parallels, but I cannot seem to get the CMS-50E software to work that way.
A dual boot between MacOS and Windows should also work just fine. But windows under Parallels in "coherence mode" is a fantastic way to get access to Windows programs while running in a Macintosh environment.

Re: What do these numbers mean?
John, thanks for the info, however, I think you might be mistaking the Encore Viewer with ReScan as I have heard that Encore Viewer only runs in Windows 32 bit. I have Windows 7 64 bit and ReScan works fine. You will want to run a 32-bit version of Windows under Parallels since Rescan only seems to work on 32-bit systems.
Just updating information for others.

If you have a S9, you probably have an SD card. I think it is the smart card drivers for the S8 that are 32-bit specific. The SD card wouldn't have that issue. Then again, it is totally possible that I am smoking the good stuff here.
