Respironics models and part numbers

Post by wtr » Thu Aug 05, 2010 9:09 am

Hi,

I’m a CPAP newbie. I live in Europe. I plan to buy PR System One Auto with humidifier from webshop. Searching the net, I noticed that there are different part numbers for the same model depending on the market.

So, for REMstar Auto with humidifier, SD card, A-Flex, there are part numbers DS550HS for US, CA551HS for Canada, IN551HS for International and AU551HS for Australia.
Are there any real differences between these models, except power cord? For example, does DS550HS have CE mark which is needed for European market? I've heard some rumors that the software (firmware) is different between American and European models.

I just wanted to ask international users or Respironics, did you buy US version?
Are there any problems when used outside of US?
Potential problems with importing (customs), power supply, etc...

I purchased my machine from one of online vendors and I don't have any issues with power (these will automatically adjust to different voltages). You just need a proper converter for the power plug. I am not sure on software differences, but I don't think they will be significantly different.
