I have been on CPap since July 20th (not very long) and I have an SD card in the back of my machine and the DME provider just showed me where it was on the machine and didn't really say much about it. My question is: who reads this information and when? Is it the DME provider? I assume it gives information about how my therapy is going, hours used, leaks, etc? I now use the Swift for her nasal pillows for almost a week now and like these pretty well. I still feel pretty much the same as I did before, pretty tired during my work day.....and since I don't have any data to read I don't really know how my therapy is going. This made me wonder about the SD card and when and whom reads this.
Thank you for any comments, suggestions or encouragement !

Re: SD card for RemStar Pro System One
You said your machine is a System One Pro in your heading but in your profile, you show a System One auto. You should probably correct that.
With either machine though, that SD card will give you AHI, leak rate and events during the night and charts to show when events happened.
The DME should read the card for you and you should ask for copies of the info. Problem is they will usually only do that every so often.
Many people here buy the software for that machine (the same software for the Pro or the Auto) though and then they can get the info on their own computer every day if they like and see all that information. You have to buy the software on your own though. You can buy it on cpap.com for $99. They have a bundle too that includes the software and a card reader but, if you have a memory card reader you can use it.

Re: SD card for RemStar Pro System One
Thank you for pointing out that my profile was incorrect ! I have fixed it.....
Think I will wait and give my CPAp therapy some more time to see how I feel, and then request a read out just to get some feedback on how I am doing.

Getting used to using the equipment is probably enough for now, you are right!
Maybe you could check in and get your DME to check your card and print you out some data since you have a few weeks undr your belt now. You could see what is happening.
Hope you begin to feel better soon!

Re: SD card for RemStar Pro System One
The only thing your DME provider is interested in on the card is compliance data. Sometime in the first 30 to 90 days of use, the DME will want to download the card to make sure that you are using the machine. If you are on Medicare there are specific compliance requirements, and many insurance companies follow Medicare guidelines.
BUT, the card is collecting lots of excellent data for you. If you take a look at my blog, you can see the kind of data you can get from the machine and how it might be used: http://maskarrayed.wordpress.com/2010/0 ... -tutorial/.
In order to access that data, you're going to have to spend another $100 to buy Encore Viewer 2.0 software from an online vendor like cpap.com. It's frustrating to have to shell out more money, but if you want to know why you aren't feeling much better and see what you can do to optimize your therapy, this is a place to start if your DME won't work with you on this. It allows you to take an active role in your treatment. You can take the printout to your doctor (who may or may not have the software to read your card) and work with your doctor to find out why you aren't feeling better.
With data, you can be your own advocate and make sure you are getting the best care.

Re: SD card for RemStar Pro System One
Is this an SD(secure digital) or CF(compact flash)? My PR System 1 has CF so now I am looking to get a reader for my computer. But whichever you do have it is worth the money to aquire the software and reader so you can look for yourself at how YOUR therapy is progressing.
