This question concerns the ResMed s9 auto set, though it probably applies to any cpap machine.
Is it sensible to turn the machine on for a minute or two without wearing it, in order to blow air through to dry the mask from the previous washing? Could this be affecting the AHI reading? Can someone explain in more detail how the machine determines the AHI reading? I don't mean the arithmetic involved. I am asking what the machine detects physically to record an event. What feedback mechanism is involved here.
Also, I have had no reply to the question I posted yesterday on how to get the S9 software. Perhaps this is because this
was #268 in the thread, so I'm trying again where maybe someone knowledgeable will see it. thanks.

Re: questions on using Resmed s9 auto
Dry the mask before you turn the machine on. Running the machine without having the mask on will influence the leak rate.
