I feel sort of "normal" again

Post by Janknitz » Mon Aug 02, 2010 7:46 pm

I am finally getting to that place when I feel "normal" again thanks to CPAP.

I went to see a movie with my kids this weekend (Despicable Me--too funny ) and I STAYED AWAKE THROUGH THE ENTIRE MOVIE. This is the FIRST time in my children's lives that I have remained awake at a movie with them--I've been falling asleep in movies occasionally since my skinny college days, and always since my kids were around--my eldest is almost 18. I remember sleeping through an ENTIRE Barney movie (well, what adult wouldn't?) when she was 3. My kids were as amazed as I was.

I'm comfortable going to bed and sleep well most of the time. I can still take a nap at a drop of a hat (with my CPAP) but otherwise I'm wide awake if the opportunity doesn't present itself.

Thanks CPAP and all of you whose support has made it possible.

It seems like such an inconsequential thing staying awake for a whole movie, but it is momentous to me.

Thanks for the kudos
