I use a Palm Centro (I know, I know, but I have Verizon and I have everything I need on Palm)--it sure would be nice to have a mobile version of this site rather than a platform specific app. That way people with Blackberries, Droids, iPhones, and even obsolete Palms could use it.

JK,

I had a Palm V for 8 years -- never a glitch.

Wish I could say the same for my Ipod Touch...

I have had some success reading this forum from the Opera Mini browser on my Palm Treo 650. It is a little clunky, but works. I had to install the Java virtual machine on it to do it: I'm not sure you would have to do that on the Centro. Mine's older. I haven't tried writing in the forum from Opera Mini.

You do, of course, realize that you are asking two questions ("have an iPad" and "adequacy of browser") while allowing only one response....

Yea! Quick mind dumps don't always lead to good poll options.

I probably should have said:

I don't have an ipad and don't plan to get one
I don't have an iPad and plan to get one.
I have an iPad and Safari/Opera browsers work good enough.
I have an iPad and really like how Forum Runner works and would like cpaptalk to support it.

BTW Forum Runner also supports other phone types like blackberry if you look at their website forumrunner.net

This presupposes that one has -- or wants to have -- internet access via a phone.

I was considering getting a smart phone the next time our contract came up. Gee, I thought, I could put an e-reader program on it, and read books, surf the web, all like that.

And then it occurred to me that in six months, I could buy an e-reader for the cost of the smart phone's connection. And that I'm already paying for internet access at the house.

I'm sure mobile whatever is the wave of internet forum futures, but not for me, not now.

The reason I bring it up is I still have a desktop machine for serious stuff but for coffee table and bed surfing I dumped my old laptop for an iPad.

Yes I can use the Safari browser but it is not as rich and as fast as the Native iPad apps.

Forum Runner is a plugin that is free and installed by the web site owners. forumrunner.net explains it all. Basically it allows the Forum Runner clients which exist for the iPhone, iPad, blackberry and more to see the forum much quicker. I use it for sites like tivocommunity.com and avsforum. There are a host of other sites that already registered and use it.

It's not really clear to me how to contact the administrators of this site and I thought a poll might get some momentum.

Apparently not. Brain damage is a terrible thing.
A person has no idea what is wrong, and nobody wants to be hear him talk.
Loneliness is so painful.

I haven't been on much the last couple of weeks, but I thought that the Forum hosts had done something to limit polls to a certain time frame and/or allow the creator of the poll to shut it down if desired. Looks like to me that it is just more of the same .

Only one thing can fix the problem, total turn off the poll function, one click on the software if the software isn't junk! It would be a zeroloss solution, polls are useless. Jim

If polls are useful, READ, Ask a question, keep tabs of the answer with a pencil, no-one would do that because POLLs are useless time wasters.
