ALL Nasal Pillow Mask Users....I have a question

Post by cpapthomas » Thu Jul 22, 2010 2:08 pm

I am trying to figure out which mask to get and I'd like to get as much information on the Nasal Pillow Mask as possible. Has anyone else, other than those who have responded already (Thank you), out there had any problems at all with their Nasal Pillow Mask that would lead me away from going in that direction....Any problems: (switched from a nasal pillow to something else and it was better; or couldn't sleep on your stomach with a mask like this, or sore gums, or your teeth hurting, or teeth shifting, etc. Also, is there a place on CPAP.COM that I can click on and find that these questions have already been addressed, and how do I do that. (I started last week, and have only had a couple of hours here and there to start reading things on this website, so thank you for any direction you could give me so I can narrow down the information I am looking for. Thank you, all the best.

On cpap.com select the mask you are interested in. Just below the price, there will be a tab for "customer reviews". You can sort them by newest to oldest or most or fewest stars or most helpful. That's a fairly good way to see the problems people have had, though I notice the average star ratings from mask to mask tend to be pretty close--almost all 4 to 4 and 1/2 stars--so the individual reviews are more helpful.

what I have found personally is the pillows that look like they are coiled, dont work for me.

I love my f an p pillows and my opus 360 headgear with plush straps, be sure to get some soft cushiony straps for your head gear,
it will take care of the red marks and be super comfy..

mine are from strap softies.. love them!

cpap.com has some and PADACHEEK.com

I have used cpap for about 6 years. I tried the full face mask, could not use it was a bad fit for me. So i tried the nasal pillow system, the mirage swift, great fit for about 5 years. The last six months i have had problems with the mirage swift. primarily feeling uncomfortable , the head gear. So my doctor suggested i try a nasal mask. Tried the res med soft jel nasal mask, not a good fit for me. So i am going back to nasal pillows, with the recommendation of a respitory therapist, who supplys me with my equipment. I am now using the res med swift lt nasal pillow system. So far so good, feels way more comfortable. You may want to start with that mask(swift lt), made by res med. Hope that helps.
