Interpreting CPAP data: indices?

Post by mrstevegross » Tue Jul 20, 2010 8:50 pm

Hi folks. I got a copy of my latest CPAP data. Under the "Hypopnea And RERA Indices" section, I see the following information:

* Average Hypopnea Index: 0.7
* Average RERA Index: 0.2
* Average AHI: 2.7

Should the Average AHI = Avg Hypopnea Idx + Avg RERA Idx?

Thanks,
--Steve

I doubt it. RERA is "respiratory effort related arousal". AHI is HI + AI. Since your HI is 0.7, your AI must be 2.0, if I've done the arithmetic correctly.
