Sudden Drop

Post by Sid » Tue Jul 13, 2010 7:13 pm

I switched to a Liberty mask about two years ago and have had great results. The masks usually last about 5 to 6 months. My average hours per night or sleep was up to 5.6 hrs per. About a month ago I was having leakage problems and was not sleepiong well at all. Got a new mask and started sleeping better and having cool dreams again. I checked the history on the CPAP machine and the hours per night showed 0.4 hrs per. Did my machine freak out or could those couple of weeks cause this drastic drop off? I've had the machine since starting CPAP therapy in 2007. it took a few years to get up to 5.6 hours. I am perplexed. Any ideas or suggestions?

Sid.......I'm confused.....I have the same machine and it shows only total hours used on the machine...it does not calculate the hours per night.

It does list the total hours but also has the avg per night.

OK Sid....Please enlighten me...I have been using this CPAP for almost 2 years and have never seen an average hours per night. Please tell me how you access that number. All I can see is total hours on the machine, altitude, humidifier setting and my pressure setting. I can change the pressure, altitude and humidity.

After I received the machine and started using it the medical supply rep called weekly to get the readings, then called monthly for the first year. I asked her about the different numbers and she stated that the avg per night was the average hours per night the machine operated "under pressure." She said this gave them info on how much the machine was actually used, as she said you couldn't just turn the machine on and let it run. Mine initially started out around 3 hrs per night and gradually went to 5.4 hrs per night, which I was told was good. Now it reads .4 hrs/night and I have felt like a .4 for a while. Got a new mask and that seemed to help a little. But Iim still having a few leaks with the mask. I never paid attention to the numbers except the humidity which I adjusted with the seasons, etc. Can't tell you why your machine doesn't have this particular number, this one does. Apparently my mask was leaking alot and that's why the average went down? Or could the machine have reset this one number? I don't know, but I do know that I've felt like crap for a while. Again, can't tell you why this machine has something yours does not. I had this machine since 2007.
