The buyer should always beware, however Hong Kong is a wonderful example of how well relatively free markets serve mankind.Hong Kong has ranked as the world's freest economy in the Wall Street Journal and Heritage Foundation's Index of Economic Freedom for 16 consecutive years, since the inception of the index in 1995. The Index measures restrictions on business, trade, investment, finance, property rights and labour and considers the impact of corruption, government size and monetary controls in 183 economies. Hong Kong is the only one to have ever scored 90 points or above on the 100 point scale. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of ... ventionism

Re: CMS-50F Wrist Oximeter for $120 US
Worked as advertised. I believe my wrist strap is oriented backwards. It has the velcro towards the skin rather than away from it. There is a quick modification in its future.SleepyTiger wrote: Received on 7/9.

It took a bit to get the USB interface going. What worked for me...
#1 Install the SpO2 software (it installs two programs, only one SpO2 Review seems useful.)
#2 Have the unit's power OFF, connect the USB cable to the computer (computer is on and booted), the computer will then recognize the unit and auto load the driver. IIRC it wanted a reboot.
#3 After the reboot, you should be able to proceed normally.
The review program is "OK" you can define what the pulse and SpO2 events are.
Make sure to visit the "printer" button and check out the various reports using the "preview" button. Sorta nice.
Hope this helps,
S/T

Re: CMS-50F Wrist Oximeter for $120 US
When I first procured one of these oximeters, I have a vague remembrance that placing the strap on the device was not intuitive and my first attempt was not satisfactory. After some experimenting I got it in a favorable position with velcro facing away from the skin.

Re: CMS-50F Wrist Oximeter for $120 US
The CMS-50s software saves the files in pdf which is nice. The SPO 7500 files were all in csv format w/the older models. I don't know about any software changes since I got mine for the SPO 7500. But I do like the SPO 7500 printouts better. Its hard to beat those CMS-50 prices tho. I have the CMS-50D+

Re: CMS-50F Wrist Oximeter for $120 US
I just jump into the Oxymeter bandwagon by buying from the same e-Bay supplier on July 14. Within a few minutes - I got a thank you mail and then within a few hours a notice that my CMS-50F is on its way!
Will report later how the Oxymeter reach me and how I can make use of this device
No prescription is required, nobody bother to ask what I am going to use this for. Pure capitalism at work
Thanks to STL Mark for spreading the news about this auction from Hong Kong.

CMS-50F Wrist Oximeter Strap Installation
Strap Installation for the CMS-50F - The instructions for putting the strap onto the "watch" are not clear or the Velcro on my strap was sewn on the wrong side of the strap. I think the intent of the strap designer was to have the user thread the short strap with the small piece of Velcro at the end through the watch slots and velcro the short strap to the strap with the O-ring. If you did that with mine, the large Velcro pads would be facing toward the arm and would be useless.
If you received a strap like mine, here is how I was able to make it work. The watch is intended to be worn on your left arm since the sensor port and the sensor wire needs to be pointing towards your fingers when you are wearing the watch (the wire is too short if the wire has to double back to attach to your finger). The display can be flipped in the menu system if you wear it on your right arm.
Lay the watch face down with the finger sensor port pointing towards you.
Attach the short strap to the Velcro pad near the O-ring.
If the Velcro on the black strap is coupled to the Velcro on the blue strap, decouple them.
Thread the black end of the strap with the Velcro facing down through each of the strap slots starting with the right slot then the left slot; keep working to pull the blue strap with the fuzzy Velcro through both slots, a very tight fit, careful to not break the plastic.
In order to get all the Velcro on the blue strap through both slots you will be pulling the short strap as well as the portion of the blue strap between the Velcro and the O-ring through the slots at the same time.
Now, the watch should be contained between the large Velcro pads to the left and the O-ring on the right where the watch can be positioned between the large Velcro pad and the O-ring. The short strap does not serve a purpose with this attachment method as far as I can tell.

Re: CMS-50F Wrist Oximeter for $120 US
I ordered the wrist watch style CMS-50F from super-medical-shop (China) on eBay on 11/24/2010 and received it 11/30/2010, for US $104, including fast shipping. I love it. I didn't have any problem reading the manual, recording the data and downloading to a Windows XP computer to see the reports. Follow the discussion on topic "Oximeter Reviews" to see how it is working out.
