Does anyone know much about alpha intrusions & alpha delta sleep?? I just reviewed my last 2 sleep studies & this info was noted during my titration study?
"Alpha intrusion & alpha delta sleep was noted which be responsible for the patient's continued excessive daytime sleepiness."
I did not discuss this with my new sleep doctor since I had didn't have a copy of the reports yet.
Any insight???
Thanks,
Janalee

Re: Alpha Intrusion & Alpha Delta Sleep
I read this discussion and can't figure out how I can tell if I have this problem. Does it show upon all sleep studies?
Re: Alpha Intrusion & Alpha Delta Sleep
Yes it shows. I have my apnea and all under control, but my last sleep study said Alpha Intrusions. Roughly, the rapid sharp alpha brain waves intrude during that time of sleep that the slow Delta brain waves should occur... your deep sleep. hence... diminished deep sleep. I am trying Jeffery Thompson's Delta Sleep CD and others to try and help me get some good sleep. Too soon to know. I am unable to take many meds, so I cannot go that route.
As in that other thread... people with pain, people under stress will have more alpha intrusions. I have peripheral neuropathy, post chemo. Pain pills are out.. I use Anodyne Therapy for the PN pain. It helps some.
