S9 Manufactured date

Post by hackwire » Tue Jun 22, 2010 8:16 am

Hi guys,

my supplier rent me a S9 machine for 2 weeks and i am ready to purchase it from them . My supplier did told me that the set i am testing is a new set. After a couple of days went by , i confirmed the deal and i requested him to check if the set i tested was a new set or a demo set? He said he will checked for me because he is not sure. Oops!! something not right. So i gave him time to check after i pass my cheque to him.

I began to do my own research in the website about the machine and i found nothing about the manufacturing date and even the Usage time display in the machine. It was kinda locked or not accessible.

So i turn over the S9 machine to look for the manufacturing date and i found the year 2008. Im quite curious about it because i only get to know that S9 was just launched in 2010.

Am i going to get the first few batch back in 2008 which might have old firmware ? Do i have to upgrade the firmware for 2008 S9?

hopefully somebody can help me out on how to check if i am getting a new stock instead of an old one. thank you.

Be aware as well that there may be a method for those that "are in the know" to reset the hours used to zero; unlike our odometer laws for cars over here there does not appear to be any law against doing this asides from trying to get a charge of fraud chased by a DA or Crown Attorney (highly unlikely... the last time I tried I was told that 'we are not the collection agency of last resort'). So much for honesty. You need to find out for yourself these days and cannot trust ANYONE. Such a shame.

Resmed has a history of releasing new versions of their products in other countries first and lastly in North America, due in part, I am sure, to the lengthy process of obtaining FDA approval. I wouldn't worry at all about the manufactured date vs the data I received it.

Thank you guys, sadly the h5i with climate control that i am using had brokedown last night when i try to use it , there's no air pressure going into the tube but it worked without the humidifier when i disassembled. I am in the admission of guilt when i turnover the humidifier yesterday to inspect the manufactured date behind . i would assume the water in the tub might be the cause of it when i tilt about 45 degree but that may be my assumption.

I guess there's no way to tell if the machine is the latest production. What about you guys? Did you try to take a look when your machine was manufactured? Do we need to upgrade any hardware firmware if there's any?

thanks.
